Advanced Product Quality Planning Workshop

Overview

This two-day session covers the requirements for Advanced Product Quality Planning. We will explore the purpose of each of the core tool's manuals and then work in groups to learn how to apply them in the appropriate phase.

Upon successful completion, you will:

  • Understand the five phases of APQP and how they link to ISO/TS16949:2009.
  • Know the inputs and outputs required for each of the five phases.
  • Know the responsibilities of the APQP Team.
  • Understand the reviews required and the importance of identification and closure of action items at each phase.
  • Understand the role of the Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis and when it is required.
  • Be able to complete a PFMEA for a process at your organization.
  • Understand the three different phases of control plans.
  • Appreciate the role of the Production Part Approval Process for validating product and process.
  • Have reviewed the requirements on what is needed for a complete PPAP and when one is required.
  • Comprehend the role of MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) and SPC (statistical process control) in the process.

Who should attend?

Those responsible for leading and participating in APQP meetings. Employees responsible for the purchase and approval of new materials, equipment or tooling for manufacturing.


Prerequisites:

None. A general working knowledge of the core tools and your organization's specific requirements is beneficial.


Duration:

2 days


Successful completion:

Upon completion of the two days, participants will receive a certificate acknowledging achievement.

Carolyn Macdonald is an IATF certified ISO/TS 16949:2002 Quality System Auditor, RAB Certified Quality System Lead Auditor, and an ISO14001:2004 Trained Lead Auditor, with experience conducting registration audits as well as implementing systems.
