ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor

This course teaches and evaluates participants' ability to conduct effective audits of Quality Management Systems.

The programme includes instruction on the application of audits and then practical application and assessment at each step of the process. Workshops, case studies and student presentations are designed to provide participants with practical experience to demonstrate their understanding of the materials and auditing.

Concepts covered include:

  • Principles and practices of effective quality management systems,
  • Process auditing in accordance with the ISO 9000 series of standards, and ISO 19011:2002, "Guidelines for Quality and/or Environmental Management Systems Auditing."

The course is designed to provide participants with the skills to demonstrate competencies defined in the following RABQSA competency units:

  • QM (Quality Management Systems)
  • AU (Management Systems Auditing)
  • TL (Leading Audit Teams)

Delivery format

This programme was designed by Carolyn and is offered only in conjunction with ICS, as defined in the RABQSA TPECS certification contract.

Who should attend?

Individuals interested in conducting first-party, second-party, and third-party audits, Management Representatives, Quality Directors, Managers, and Engineers.


Prerequisites:

None. A general working knowledge of the core tools and your organization's specific requirements is beneficial.


Pre-course Requirements:

You will also receive pre-course work to be completed prior to Day 1.


Duration:

5 days


Schedule:

Option 1: One day per week for five consecutive weeks.
Option 2: Five days in a row.


Successful completion:

Requires passing all assessment components. Assessments are conducted by experienced evaluators with many years of auditing experience. Feedback is specific, timely and positive to develop confidence in each participant’s abilities.


Evaluation:

Each participant will receive a personal evaluation of competency against RABQSA competency units QM (Quality Management Systems) AU (Management Systems Auditing) and TL (Leading Audit Teams).

Carolyn Macdonald is an IATF certified ISO/TS 16949:2002 Quality System Auditor, RAB Certified Quality System Lead Auditor, and an ISO14001:2004 Trained Lead Auditor, with experience conducting registration audits as well as implementing systems.
