ISO/TS16949:2009 Internal Systems Auditor Certificate

This certificate course for internal systems auditors reviews the technical specification in detail and covers the automotive approach to auditing.

Practical application using a case study and role plays, or your organization's actual documentation, provide hands-on experience.

The program includes application of the core tools (APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC and PPAP) and integrating customer-specific requirements into the audit process.

This course meets Ford-specific requirements for Internal Auditors.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:

  • Interpret and apply ISO/TS16949:2009 to your organization.
  • Understand the sequence and interaction of processes.
  • Use performance measures to audit for effectiveness.
  • Ingegrate customer specifics into the audit process.
  • Describe the three types of audits required.
  • Create system/process checklists.
  • Gather objective evidence and determine conformance.
  • Categorize non-conformance based on risk.
  • Plan, document, report and follow up on audits assigned to you.
  • Understand the use of the core tools.
  • Identify which processes the core tools impact.

Delivery format

Option 1: Exclusive presentation

Receive exclusive training on-site at your organization.

This format is great for organizations with six or more people to train.

Option 2: Multi-company participation

Share training with a maximum of two other companies.

Designed for small- to mid-size organizations, multi-company participation provides a cost-effective approach to training your internal auditors.

We select companies that do not compete directly but work in related areas of the automotive industry. You get the value of interaction with others as well as the benefits of hands-on application of skills.

Who should attend?

Individuals required to lead or conduct internal audits for their organization.


Prerequisites:

None. A general working knowledge of the core tools and your organization's specific requirements is beneficial.

Please read the technical specification prior to attending.


Pre-course questionnaire:

You will also receive a questionnaire to be completed prior to Day 1.


Duration:

3 days


Schedule:

Option 1: One day per week for three consecutive weeks.
Option 2: Three days in a row.


Evaluation:

Each participant will receive a personal evaluation of competency based on participation in class activities, report reviews, and grade achieved on a test of understanding. Feedback on performance will include areas for further development, if required.


Successful completion:

This course meets automotive requirements for internal auditor competency.

Upon completion of the three days, participants will receive a certificate detailing their level of achievement.

Carolyn Macdonald is an IATF certified ISO/TS 16949:2002 Quality System Auditor, RAB Certified Quality System Lead Auditor, and an ISO14001:2004 Trained Lead Auditor, with experience conducting registration audits as well as implementing systems.
